This month we have appointed Alan Peacock as Interim Director and Registrar of NRCPD. We are also busy preparing for the upcoming practitioner forum and Board meeting.

New Interim Director and Registrar

Alan Peacock has been appointed as interim Director and Registrar of NRCPD. Alan will be responsible for leading and representing NRCPD on a day to day basis, including strategy development and business planning. He will also be working to achieve the transition of NRCPD to independence as a regulatory body. Alan's experience in regulation includes senior positions at the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Architects Registration Board. Alan was Executive Director of the Chartered Institute of Linguists for several years. Alan will take up post on 4 July 2016. Kate Price remains in post as Registration Service Manager.

Advertising your details

Some people have experienced problems with their advertising details resetting when renewing their registration. Although we have now solved this issue, please check that your advertising details are set to your preference. You can do this by logging into the portal and selecting 'edit advertising details'.

Upcoming Meetings

The practitioner forum will meet via conference call on 6 July. Agenda items include guidance over use of social media, improving how complaints are reported and Trainee Sign Language Interpreter's supervisors. The minutes will be available soon after the meeting.

The Board will next meet on 18 July in London.

Enhanced Disclosure

If you are experiencing unusually long delays when renewing your enhanced disclosure from the DBS, please get in touch to let us know.

We are looking at how the Scottish regions are represented in the table below as we have been advised these regions are out of date. We are working on bringing the information up to date.
