The Board met on 27 September in London with Board member Liz Duncan chairing the meeting.
Following the recruitment process for new lay members for the NRCPD Board, five applicants are being considered and we hope to have the new members in place for the next Board meeting on 22 November.
On Wednesday 28 September we implemented and enforced Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on the NRCPD portal, which will increase the security of the system. If you have previously saved your password then your browser may not automatically fill in the form for you. Your password will remain unchanged; however you will need to retype your username and password into the login form.
If for any reason you cannot remember your password then please use the forgotten password link.
The review of the National Occupational Standards in Interpreting has now commenced with the first meeting held in London on 28 September. This was a joint meeting of the working and steering groups. Both NRCPD and Signature are involved in the review. We will post regular updates.
We held a Practitioner Forum meeting on 15th September in York. Matters under discussion included social media policy, the outcome of the TSLI consultations, the CPD scheme and, in particular, the recording of CPD for audit purposes. The minutes will be published on our website in due course.
The NRCPD Director, Alan Peacock, attended the 2016 ASLI conference in Newcastle on 2 October where he gave a presentation to delegates on 'statutory regulation: enhancing public protection and professional recognition'. He gave an overview of the regulatory landscape in the UK, what regulation means for the public and the professions, and how NRCPD will work towards its aim to achieve statutory regulation. He also provided an update on NRCPD's recent achievements and on-going work. The presentation was followed by a lively question and answer session.

We are looking at how the Scottish regions are represented in the table below as we have been advised these regions are out of date. We are working on bringing the information up to date.
