New Director of Development

We are pleased to announce Marcus Hawthorn has been appointed as Director of Development. Marcus will be responsible for leading NRCPD including business planning and strategy development. He will be leading the work to achieve the transition of NRCPD to a fully independent regulatory body.

Liz Duncan, Chair of NRCPD said about the new Director:

"The Board is delighted to welcome Marcus to NRCPD. He brings a wealth of experience to our team, along with a keen understanding of the sector and a passion for our vision for the future.

There are exciting times ahead for NRCPD and we look forward to working closely with Marcus to achieve our goal of becoming an independent regulator."

Marcus has considerable experience in the charitable sector, initially working for Age UK, and his most recent role was Northern Area manager for Royal British Legion. He is also a Non-Executive Director for Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust.

Marcus said about his new role as Director:

"NRCPD plays a vital role in the health of the sector and I'm honoured to be coming on board at this key moment. It's humbling to see all the great work that is already done and to be entrusted with its future. I very much look forward to working with all stakeholders to establish NRCPD as the excellent, trusted, independent regulator the sector rightly expects"

Marcus will take up post on 4 June 2018.
