We are pleased to announce we have appointed two Registrant Board members following an open recruitment process in June.
James Fitzgerald RSLI is new to the Board. James is Head of Department - Deaf Access and Interpreting at City Lit. He is also a qualified assessor. James will serve a four year term from June 2018.
Sarah Haynes RSLI will serve a second term. Sarah has been a Board member since 2015 and will serve another four year term from June 2018. Sarah is a highly experienced interpreter, she also trains and mentors interpreters.
Both were appointed based on their skills and experience, and in particular their strategic vision and their commitment to the long term aims for NRCPD. Liz Duncan, Chair of NRCPD said about the appointments:
"We are delighted to welcome James Fitzgerald to the Board and to continue to benefit from the expertise of Sarah Haynes. Both bring a great deal of experience, not only as Registrants, but they also offer knowledge and insights which strengthen the Board as we progress towards full independence. I'm greatly looking forward to working with them."
We are seeking more registrants to join the Board and are keen to recruit individuals from all registration categories.
For others interested in joining the NRCPD Board look out for news of an information day for potential Trustees in London late in August.
