The CPD working group will meet for the final time on Monday 5 August. They will finalise the improvements and changes to the policy and discuss an implementation plan and timescale. We will announce the changes to the CPD policy later this year. We are very grateful to the members of the working group for the time they have devoted to this important piece of work.
We have continued to meet and engage directly with our stakeholders and others:
over the past few weeks we have:
We have recently approved iBSL's new Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting Studies as a route to registration for Registered Sign Language Interpreter. This qualification was mapped against the revised (2017) National Occupational Standards in Interpreting and we are pleased to confirm that it meets the revised standards. We continue to work with all other partners on mapping against the 2017 NOSI.
We have recently recruited a Case Administration Officer, Terri Haggarty started with us in May. Terri's main role is to administer complaints investigations and to improve internal processes around complaints and improve our service to those involved in the process.
We are advertising for a Communications and Marketing Officer to join the team by September to lead on communications and promote all aspects of our work.
Over the past few weeks we have been working on making improvements to our IT systems. This includes some changes and improvements to the registrant portal. These changes include the option to upload CPD evidence electronically, improvements to the application/renewal process, access to your invoice on-line and improvements to the register search facility. We will let you know once we have a date for launching the new system and provide you with more details about the changes to the portal. We may need to interrupt the online service briefly as we go live with the improvements, but we will let you know when that will be and keep any interruption to a minimum.
The final annual accounts for 2018 have been published on the website
On Wednesday 7 August the office will be closed for essential IT maintenance. You will not be able to access your online registration account on this date. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
