Dear Registrants and Regulated Trainees,
As the national voluntary regulator of language service professionals, we have an important role to play in improving the quality of language services nationally. Raising the standards of professional practice is one of our regulatory responsibilities and ties in with our current strategic aims of strengthening regulation and developing our professions. And so, in recent months, we have been developing clear and coherent underpinning guidance to support you in applying the standards in your professional practice.
We are delighted to say that this year will see the publishing of five different elements in our core guidance:
Practice guidance is the bedrock that helps guide ethical decision-making so that you can maintain and raise your standards of professional practice. Earlier this year, we undertook a review of practice guidance to fully understand the current landscape. The findings from this review acknowledged the excellent guidance available, but also allowed us as a regulatory body to see the areas in need of further development. The five elements of core guidance listed above came out of this work. For further information, please see: www.nrcpd.org.uk/NRCPD-updates.php?article=267
If you have any questions about the above, please get in touch with us at: enquiries@nrcpd.org.uk
With many thanks,
NRCPD.
