18 October 2022
Dear Registrants and Regulated Trainees,
As our current CEO, Marcus Hawthorn, leaves us we are in the process of selecting our next CEO and will make an announcement in due course. There will be a gap, and so to make sure that normal business can continue, we are making two interim appointments until the new CEO is in post. Firstly, Theresa Thomas-Morton will step up as Operations Director covering all matters other than Complaints. With over 15 years experience as RSLI, Theresa has been NRCPD's Practice Policy Officer since September 2021. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the professional practice and ethical guidance for the professions, she also coordinates appropriate input to national strategies across the UK.
Secondly, one of our long serving Trustees, Hilary Maxwell-Hyslop, will stand in unpaid as Registrar with oversight of the Complaints process. Hilary has been a Trustee of NRCPD since 2017 and was on the NRCPD operating board before that. She has worked in the education sector for many years and has acted as a Lay Advisor for the Royal College of GPs and the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, and is a member of the Qualifications Committee of the National Register for Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI).
On an unrelated matter, we have unexpectedly had to move offices because our landlord has gone into administration. We will be in our new premises by the end of October at the address below - this can already be used for sending things to us:
NRCPD,
Portland House,
Belmont Business Park,
Durham DH1 1TW.
Staff will be unavailable for a period of about 24 hours when we make the move from Thursday 27th October to midday on Friday 28th October. The NRCPD registration portal and website will be unaffected by the move.
If you have any questions about the above, please get in touch with us via VRS in BSL or via email at: consultations@nrcpd.org.uk.
With thanks,
NRCPD.
