NRCPD primary purpose is to protect d/Deaf* and Deafblind people and maintain public confidence in language services across the UK.
To achieve this, we register and set professional standards for language service professionals. As a strength-based regulator, we seek to foster a culture of continuous improvement by supporting registrants to build on their strengths and continually improve their practise.
We are looking for an Independent Registrar who shares our values and is committed to upholding them in their work.
As Independent Registrar you will report to the Board of Trustees and work closely with the Professional Conduct Team, to uphold the integrity of the Professional Conduct and Complaints process ensuring the impartiality and transparency of misconduct investigations.
The Registrar has oversight of accepted cases and acts as the final decision-maker for specific complaints. You will be engaged at key decision making points as laid out in the NRCPD Fitness to Practice Procedure.
The post requires a commitment to work on a case within an agreed time frame as per agreement with NRCPD.
We are seeking an objective and unbiased person with a background in, or experience of, dealing with complaints and appeals and making informed decisions through an evidence-based system.
It is important that the Registrar remains independent and impartial and, for that reason, applicants must not be a NRCPD registrant or have connections to Language Service provision to the d/Deaf or deafblind community.
The post-holder will need to demonstrate willingness and ability both to understand the sector and the community it serves and to familiarise themselves rapidly with NRCPD's complaint process.
This role is ad hoc in nature and does not require significant time commitment, but is also a great opportunity to work within a unique and rewarding sector. Whilst the time commitment is flexible, we assure you that this role will be a valuable and enriching experience and gives great opportunity to utilise your skills whilst broadening your perspective.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
If you are interested in applying, please send us your CV and covering letter by email at: jobs@nrcpd.org.uk.
