NRCPD has for the first time approved an undergraduate route to registration for sign language interpreters.
Students who achieve a first class BA (Hons) in Interpreting (BSL/English) from the University of Wolverhampton will be eligible to register as a sign language interpreter.
Students who don't achieve a first class degree will be able to register as a trainee sign language interpreter.
The course requires students to achieve level 6 in British Sign Language and complete a minimum of 60 interpreting assignments.
